INTERPRETATION
Interpretation is the oral translation from one language to another in real time. This can be simultaneous or consecutive. Simultaneous interpretation is normally used when there are multiple listeners who use headsets to connect to the language channel of their choice. In virtual platforms, the audience does not require a headset; instead, they simply connect to the language channel of their choice. Consecutive interpreting can have one or multiple listeners, but it is generally used when there are few participants. The speaker makes a pause for the interpreter to translate for the audience that does not speak the speaker's language. This does not require a headset and is common in the case of interviews, medical or legal cases.
At SELTIS all our interpreters are accredited and have an extensive experience in this field. They are also English or Spanish native speakers with a profound lexical and cultural knowledge in a wide variety of topics. Below is a list of the types of interpretation we offer. Since simultaneous interpretation requires equipment for listening, this face-to-face service is only available if consecutive interpretation is required for medical or legal purposes without equipment.
